Amitabh Bachchan Liver Cirrhosis Condition

Amitabh Bachchan  Liver Cirrhosis Condition

Nearly thirty years ago, Bollywood's legendary superstar, Amitabh Bachchan, faced an accident on the set of Manmohan Desai's movie "Coolie." During one of the many action scenes filmed for this movie, Big B fell on the corner of a table and ruptured his spleen. The rupture caused a significant amount of blood loss which resulted in Big B being critically ill  and had to stay in the hospital for many months.
Mr. Bachchan's critical condition instigated the Indian public to pray for him in temples and many fans offered their own blood to potentially save the famous star's life. Fortunately, Amitabh Bachchan survived the near death circumstances just like a dramatic sequence in a masala flick!
On the downside, unlike the ultimate happy endings in Bollywood movies, this story doesn't have a perfect ending. Some of the blood that Big B was given in a transfusion was infected by hepatitis! And on April 23 the "Paa" actor took his blog to talk about his health conditions after the accident that happened a long time ago.
The blood transfusion from 1982 has apparently caused cirrhosis of the liver (a condition that is normally associated with that of an alcoholic) in our favorite actor. Big B explained, "So here I was, a non alcoholic, a teetotaler, with an ailment that I imbibed through a blood transfusion from a donor !!"  Sadly, due to the hepatitis, Bachchan's liver has been 25% destroyed.
Now now, let's not get too concerned! The news of Big B's health has alarmed way too many people! Big B did not intend on creating havoc, nor was he seeking attention. He claims that his "intention to describe [his]  day within the 'tunnel' was not to seek attention, but to narrate the experience of a day in [his] life."
In response to the panicking fans senior Bachchan blooged, "They found nothing abnormal. No tumor that they were suspecting. Extent of damaged liver is the same, no change in that." We're sure Mr. Bachchan will pull through this medical tough time just like every on-screen escapade! Tell us what you think of the uproar caused by Big B's blog posts!
